Registering Hope Foundation was born from one of the hardest seasons our family has ever faced.

When Steven was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer, our world changed overnight. Along with the emotional weight of a life-threatening diagnosis came an overwhelming financial burden—countless flights to specialists, hotel stays, meals away from home, childcare, lost work, insurance deductibles, copays, and unexpected out-of-pocket expenses. We quickly learned that the battle against cancer extends far beyond the hospital walls.

What carried us through that season was the incredible generosity of others. Friends, family, strangers, and our community surrounded us with prayers, financial support, meals, encouragement, and love. Those gifts reminded us that hope is often delivered through the hands and hearts of people willing to show up.

Looking back, we can see God’s faithfulness woven through every step of our journey. While we would never have chosen this road, we believe He has used it to refine us, strengthen our faith, and give us a greater purpose. We believe our suffering was never meant to end with us, but that it was meant to become a source of hope for someone else.

That is why we created Registering Hope Foundation.

Our mission is to ease the financial burden and provide emotional encouragement for families facing a colon cancer diagnoses. We want families to know they are not alone. Whether it’s helping cover travel expenses, lodging, meals, or simply reminding someone that they are seen and loved, our goal is to help lighten the load so families can focus on what matters most --fighting, healing, and spending precious time together.

Hope is more than a feeling—it is something we can give.

One of the greatest joys of this foundation is involving our children in its mission. We want them to grow up seeing compassion in action, learning that even in life’s darkest valleys, God can use ordinary people to make an extraordinary difference. Our prayer is that Registering Hope becomes a legacy of generosity, faith, and service that points people to the unwavering hope found in Christ.

We know firsthand that one act of kindness can change someone’s journey. Through Registering Hope Foundation, we hope to be that kindness for families who need it most.

Because when hope is shared, burdens become lighter—

and no family should have to walk this road alone.
